Fees, Referrals and Rebates

We are committed to providing high-quality, individualised support. Below is a guide to our current fees and the pathways to getting started.

Service Investment

All prices are in AUD and may be subject to change. Fees are subject to GST unless the service qualifies as GST-free under Australian Tax Law (such as certain health or NDIS services). 

Families and Carers

Family Roadmap $225 per hour.
Strategy & Growth Consultations $225 per hour.
Collaborative Team Guidance Fees based on the duration and scope of the tailored plan.
Guided Support Groups Pricing determined by session duration and group size.

Family Support and Strategy

Individualised, direct support – $225 per hour.
Group Programs – Fee will vary depending on group size and duration.

 

Professionals & Organisations

Agency & Organisation Consultation $225 (+GST) per hour.
Structured Training & Custom Workshops Tailored quotes provided based on duration and team size.
Professional Support Groups Pricing varies by group size. Contact us to register your expression of interest.

Special Rate for Individual Practitioners

To support the professional growth of those working directly in the field, we offer a reduced rate for Disability Support Workers, Educators, and Helpers who are self-funding their own professional development.
Guidance & Reflective Practice (1:1) $150 per hour ($136.36 +GST)

Note: Reflective Practice is essential for professional development, these fees may be tax-deductible for individual professionals. Please consult with your tax professional regarding your specific circumstances.

Agency & Organisation Consultation – $225 (+GST) per hour.

Structured Training & Custom Workshops – Tailored quotes provided based on duration and team size.

From Report to Reality Billed at the standard hourly rate of $225 per hour.
Standard Consultation $225 per hour. (Includes 50-minute appointment + 10-minute essential admin).

Individual receiving direct, personalised, 1:1 psychological support (50-minute session + 10 minutes reporting). 

Standard Consultation – $225 per appointment.

 

Administrative and Non-Face-to-Face Services

Documentation and Resource Development – Time spent preparing formal reports, correspondence, and detailed support plans, as well as the creation of individualised resources or templates. Billed at $225 per hour.
Travel – Time spent travelling to and from your location for in-person services. Billed at 50% of the hourly rate.

Administrative and Non-Face-to-Face Services

Documentation and Resource Development – $225 per hour.

Travel – Billed at 50% of the hourly rate.

Referrals

A formal referral is not required to access services at Brightseed Psychology.

We welcome self-referrals from individuals, families, and support coordinators, as well as referrals from schools, GPs, therapists, and other service providers. If you are unsure which service is right for you or your client, we are happy to have a brief chat to guide you in the right direction.

Funding and Rebates

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability.

Brightseed Psychology is a non-registered provider. We work with:

  • Self-Managed participants
  • Plan-Managed participants

Please confirm with your plan manager that services can be claimed under your plan (typically Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living or Training categories).

Medicare

The Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative allows eligible clients to claim a rebate for up to 10 individuals sessions per calendar year. Please discuss your eligibility with your medical practitioner.

You may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for your psychology sessions if referred by your General Practitioner (GP), Psychiatrist or Paediatrician.

  • Requirement: A referral letter and mental health care plan (from a GP) or a referral letter (from a Psychiatrist/Paediatrician).
  • Rebate: The current rebate for Registered Psychologists (as of 1 July 2025) is $98.95.
  • Note: We do not bulk bill. You will be required to pay the full fee at the time of your session and claim the rebate afterward.

Please ensure you bring the referral to your first appointment.

You will be required to return to your referring doctor to review your progress after the first 6 psychological therapy sessions. At this time, your doctor will determine if a re-referral for an additional 4 sessions is required.

Private Health Insurance

Many private health funds offer rebates for psychology services.

Please check your specific level of cover for “Psychology” prior to your appointment.

Cancellation & Sickness Policy

We require at least 48 hours’ notice for any rescheduled appointment or cancellation.

We understand that illness happens. If you are unwell, please notify us as soon as possible to discuss an online consultation or rescheduling. To protect our clinician’s schedules, the following non-attendance fees apply:

  • 0 – 24 hours’ notice: Full fee
  • 24 – 48 hours’ notice: 50% of full fee

Please note: Cancellation fees cannot be claimed via Medicare or Private Health Insurance.
